Here's the scoop: I am an independent filmmaker. I'm just now wrapping up a year-long project and my time will soon be available for something new. For this next project, I'd like to shoot something that deals with Bears. I'm not necessarily looking for a script titled "Bears," dealing exclusively with Bears, but I'm more looking for a really good story with some strong Bear characters with real problems. It's clich�, I realize. But the fact is this: there are gay-themed movies that have been made for the past 2-3 decades. You see them every day on HBO and Showtime. What I've yet to see is a work dealing with the sub-community of Bears. Again, I don't really want to iconize bears and turn the "Bear" attribute into a novelty. I really would just like to do a piece that deals with these little seen or heard of gay characters. The ones that don't fit the stereotype of the gay male. If anyone has a knack for writing and would be interested in working on a screenplay, please feel free to contact me. I'm looking for a short or for a feature length.
