Posted by bearmaster on Friday, December 23, 2005 (08:02:56) (3890 reads)
Author P.J. Gray has done it again! This time with more ummph! This sequel to Bear Cookin' is jam packed with goodies that is sure to melt in your mouth - as well as in your hand! With even more recipes and more techniques - as well as a fabulous "emergency substitutions" section - this is a great addition to your cookbook collection, making it a complete Bear treat!
In this second book you will find a much more updated layout with wonderful illustrations, great commentary, and fabulous, ingenious recipes that will make the belly grumble for more! Frosted Cola Cake, German Chocolate Chews, Tuxedo Bread, Butter Nut Chews, Quick Mushroom Rissotto, Carribean Pork - are just a few delicious samples you will find in this book! Pick up a copy while it is hot! Will make a great holiday gift or a fantastic stocking stuffer!
I really enjoyed the layout of this cookbook - it is very practical and organized making it very easy to find what you are looking for. A great companion for Bear Cookin' - More Bear Cookin' is a keeper!

Bear Cookin' - by P.J. Gray and Stanley Hunter
Posted by bearmaster on Friday, December 09, 2005 (00:34:40) (5287 reads)
Authors P.J. Gray and Stanley Hunter have created a very delectable guide to comfort foods for us Bears!
A great collection of foods ranging from "Lip Smackin' Snackin'" snacks such as 'Homemade Candy Bars' to "More Bear Meat" dishes such as 'Slow-Cooked Beef & Sausage Loaf' - this book is sure to please the belly as well as the heart & soul! Body-warming dishes that make you want to cuddle up and growl - with or without your man. Comfort foods for any occasion!
Not all the dishes are the healthiest of choices, but you may certainly substitute various ingredients! Lots of tips and techniques as well as cute illustrations adorn this book and add to its charming quality of "handwritten" family cookbooks that you would want to share with your friends & family - a great gift idea for the holidays!
When reading this cookbook - I felt a sense of warmth just as if it was a collection of family recipes handed down from generations that a dear friend wrote especially for me, I believe you will have this same feeling when you read this and, more importantly, taste the foods in this book!
A must-have for your cookbook collection! No Bear should be without it!

Bear Like Me - by Jonathan Cohen
Posted by bearmaster on Friday, November 11, 2005 (16:30:39) (4508 reads)
Jonathan Cohen's first novel is a great relief for the Bear community. Take a roller-coaster ride through this story of a self-discovering voyage of life and love, and what better way than through a community of bears?
Join Peter Mallory, an average guy working for Phag Magazine as a quality writer who gets dropped for not conforming to the new standard of low-quality-meets-straight-version-of-Out Magazine complete with Ben Afleck on the cover, which is not so far from the truth.
Taking advice from his best friend, Peter starts to go undercover in the Bear community, transforming himself into something he never thought he could be, himself, to write a book about the Bear community. Peter starts to get deep in cover and discovers more than he thought he would. Until his plan for revenge on Phag starts to unfold, his love and life is unfolding as well into something even more greater.
A fun novel, with a touch of erotic verse kept me on my toes the entire time! I could not put this book down, the writing style had me wanting to read more, to see what happens next. If you like a book that you can't put down and has you exhilirated in the joy of life (and Bears), then this is the book for you!
Highly recommended!
