Ειδήσεις - Meet William Brown!
Bear of the Month

Well, here we go. I should warn you, I'm a real Chatty Cathy. In fact, as I was typing, I could feel my laptop get heavier.

Oh, I almost forgot. In the picture (the only one I really have of me), I'm on the left, my hubby, Bill is in the middle, and on the far right is a cutsie bear. After many many Bud Lights.

Name: William Anthony Brown

Age: 28

Location: Shelbyville, Indiana

Occupation: Freelance DJ/ Comedian

Partnered?: You Bet. 6 years.

Interests: Games (all varieties), Music Composition, Movies, Bear Runs, Comedy, and Many More

Why do you want to be BEAR of the Month?

Wow, tough question. I feel as though anything I say will either sound vain, or a mask to cover my own vanity. I want to be Bear Of The Month because I was never voted Class President, or Prom King. I never scored a winning touchdown, or was the lead in any play. But the reason I never accomplished these things was because I never even tried. So I'm trying now.

What is/was the highpoint of your life?

Well, depends on how you look at it.

Realistically: The highpoint of my life was when I first drew breath, back on April 30, 1974. If it hadn't been for that, the rest wouldn't happen.

Romantically: When I met my partner Bill. I didn't know it then, but that was definitely a highpoint.

Comically: I guess a definite high point was when I experimented with a drug. Well actually, it was Viagra so I wasn't really high. I was a little dizzy, though, mainly because my blood supply was diverted from my brain. But it was an interesting couple of days. At first, it was just a sex thing. After 24 hours, it was just plain annoying. I would pass the time running around the local Leather bar with a bag of Funyuns asking if anyone wanted to play ring toss.

Name two of your best accomplishments:

1. Getting on stage for the first time. Because I overcame my stage fright, being up in front of a large crowd of people telling jokes is as natural as breathing. (Oops, sorry about the cliche. It slipped)

2. Kicking a home run in KickBall back in the sixth grade. Being the "fat" kid in class, I was always last to be picked. To this day, I don't really know what came over me. It didn't win the game or anything, but it kept me from thinking I could never do *anything* right.

What have you contributed to your community? (whether bear/gay or local hometown)

Well, as far as the local community, which is Shelbyville, Indiana, the only thing I could possibly contribute is fresh DNA into the gene pool. That is *not* going to happen.

As far as the Bear Community, the only thing I can contribute is my comedy. Bears love to laugh, and I love to make them do it.

Who is your favorite actor?

Any actor/actress who doesn't rely on the same act to make their next movie, like Adam Sandler does. Right now, Julianne Moore has my attention.

Favorite movie?

The Color Purple. They just don't make movies like that anymore.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I try not to picture that far ahead. Hell, I couldn't even picture myself next month. If life were that predictable, we wouldn't need psychics, now would we?

Quote: My favorite quote is from Douglas Adams: "There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another which states that this has already happened." --The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe

Please tell us what your views on life are and what your goals/aspirations are for the future. (this is where you can share your “secrets of the universe” to our readers and to share some insight on anything you wish)

My views on life are this. "Know who you are, not just what you are. Likewise, treat people for the same reasons." I don't know if it's original, but to me, it makes a lot more sense than any organized religion. My goal for the future is to *have* a future.
