About The Artist
RD. (Randy) Riccoboni is an innovative American-born painter (California, 1960), influenced by his early years living in the suburbs of New York City. A self-taught artist, he credits encouragement by family and teachers for his drive and inspiration. The artist resides and paints in San Diego, California.
Riccoboni's paintings on canvas and paper depict his travels. Subjects include landscape, portraiture, street-scenes, public events, and everyday happenings and friends. His palette is derived from the bold colors of the original rainbow flag. Colors that represent, sexuality, healing, sunshine, nature, art, harmony, and spirit. Riccoboni’s internationally recognized work represents community, a sense of place in a positive and life affirming manner.
In 1996 Rainbow Nation, 40 Gay American Paintings was published in England by Aubrey Walter which captured five years of community events through painting what the artist saw perceived, attended and participated in. Capturing in lavish bold color what thousands of persons where experiencing with him. This publication has led to his life affirmative artworks to capture the hearts and minds of many persons internationally in Australia, Europe, and the United States.
